MEMSTAFF TEAM

MEMStaff has become the leader in MEMS staffing by building a team that is made up of the right balance of MEMS industry and technical experience and strong recruiting and HR experience. This expertise allows MEMStaff to understand the technical details of a job description, evaluate experience levels in order to properly screen, and use established and proven recruiting techniques to match the right people with the right job.

JASON WEIGOLD

Jason Weigold has worked in the MEMS industry for more than 25 years. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1995 and the M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1997 and 2000 respectively doing research in the field of microelectromechanical systems including projects for the Charles Stark Draper Laboratories and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). He worked at Analog Devices for many years in the Advanced Development Group of the Micromachined Products Division working on diverse MEMS development projects. He has worked on the development of MEMS inertial sensors, MEMS switches, MEMS resonators, MEMS pressure sensors, and MEMS microphones over the years. Areas of work included all stages of MEMS product development including, new product conceptualization, mechanical design and simulation, process design and integration, layout, fabrication, testing and evaluation, mechanical and electrical characterization, assembly, and packaging. Jason is located just outside Boston in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

DAVE COLLINS

Dave Collins has worked in the field of MEMs for more than 25 years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University and his Master of Engineering Degree in Microelectronic Manufacturing Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Dave spent 23 years in the MEMS industry working in Process related roles in both R&D and Manufacturing at such companies as Xerox, Analog Devices, and Kionix. Over the years Dave has worked on various MEMS technologies and products including inertial, optical, micro-fluidics, and biomedical. He holds six patents in the areas of MEMs manufacturing and packaging.

LAUREN PURTELL

Lauren Purtell has more than 10 years of experience in human resource and recruiting, from start-ups to fortune 500 companies. She began her career at Kelly Financial Resources, hiring for companies such as Fidelity, Standard and Poor, and State Street. She moved to a corporate recruiting role with Target overseeing Northeast Pharmacy operations. After her time at Target, she spent almost 10 years with MEMStaff before moving into a Talent Acquisition role managing the hiring processes for an 8-state manufacturing and retail operation. In 2024 she rejoined MEMStaff from her office in North Conway, NH.

KEVIN CHAU - ADVISOR

Kevin Chau has over 25 years of experience leading large development efforts in commercializing MEMS products for high-volume applications. Kevin was the Director of MEMS Engineering at LV Sensors before joining MEMStaff. Prior to LV Sensors, Kevin spent 14 years at Analog Devices where he was instrumental in the development of MEMS Inertial Sensors which have since become high volume products found in diverse applications from air bag sensors to the latest consumer electronics products, e.g., the Nintendo Wii. Prior to Analog Devices, Kevin worked at the Foxboro Company where he developed Polysilicon-Diaphragm Pressure Sensor Arrays. Kevin received a PhD under Prof. Kensall D. Wise and an MSEE both from the University of Michigan. Kevin is located in Silicon Valley.
